Needs vs. Wants

We’ve all had those mornings where dragging ourselves out of bed feels like the last thing we want to do. Set several alarms 5/10 min apart, repeat snooze etc.

But ask yourself—what’s the bigger picture? What’s your end goal?

Would you still hesitate if you knew that tackling today’s tasks moves you closer to achieving that goal?

Would you then accept a challenge?

Sometimes, a shift in perspective is all it takes. Get up, get things done, and make progress. Make every day count and move forward. Challenge yourself.

  • For me, because I do what I do, I’m able to send my children to one of the best schools in the city—a win toward my goal of giving them the best education.
  • I travel with them to a new country every year, exposing them to new experiences—a win toward teaching them about research, travel logistics, airport connections, commuting/ accommodation options etc.
  • I also manage life’s challenges better each day, Today, I’m stronger than I was yesterday. Tomorrow, I’ll push myself a little more and conquer that—a win toward my own self-development, helping me stay grounded and tackle everyday challenges, both personally and professionally.

It’s time for a reality check—a self-audit. Is it really about needs vs. wants?
Or are your current needs actually paving the way to your future wants?
