The past few weeks have had some of the toughest moments I’ve experienced. Disappointments, burnout, sacrificing family time, and feeling completely out of alignment—all at once. A child rushed to the hospital from school, eventually ending up in a cast due to ankle sprain.
It got overwhelming, and I had to make a choice: Stop!
I had to reassess. Something needed to change because compromising my core values is non-negotiable. I believe: when your actions align with your values, you can weather any storm. But when you’re out of sync, it’s a sign that change is needed—whether it’s your environment, mindset, or approach.
So, what did I do?
- Reflected on the lessons learned.
- Re-aligned with my values.
- Prioritized self-care.
- Created a new Massive Action Plan (MAP).
- Laid out where change was needed and focused on the most critical areas first.
- Reached out to my coach to help me re-align (coaches need coaching too)
Personal time lost is irreplaceable. For me, my relationship with my children/family tops my list of core values. If I sacrifice time with them without clear communication or a plan to make it up, I break my own rule of alignment. It’s different when I say, “Hey, I’ll be late for dinner,” versus just not showing up.
