Do yourself and your loved ones a favor, have your medical insurance valid at all times.

Here’s a personal story from this past weekend-

I was at the emergency on Thursday, the lovely nurse who was treating me got chatting and said “you’re lucky you have insurance, we had someone come here just as bad as you a couple of minutes ago, we had to turn her away” her insurance was expired. Clearly shocked, I said “you couldn’t test her for a flu because she didn’t have insurance? Well, I hope you could at least direct her to some place that would treat her for flu and not charge her an arm and a leg”

2 days later on Saturday, my daughter had to be taking into emergency to the same medical center, she had 2 lovely nurses treating her turned out one was serving her notice period and moving to another country – More value, better package and an organization’s vision that most likely aligns with one’s values. It’s said almost like a broken record – if you don’t value the people who work with you, you’ll lose them to someone else who does.

That being said, I’m still grateful to a set group of doctors who I will remember for as long as I’m alive – I’ll save that story for another day because they weren’t just generating business. They saved a life very dear to me. (PS: we have insurance)

  • I understand, medical insurance is expensive, get it done anyway.
  • There’s a variety of established insurance companies that offer various packages. Grab one that works for you.
  • Do not end up in a situation where you’re refused treatment because you don’t have medical insurance.
  • Save yourself unnecessary hassle when you least expect it and higher bills than insurance coverage fees itself.

Get yourself covered.
